Trout eggs were delivered to local schools to be raised in the classroom.

Over 5,000 Brook Trout eggs are getting ready at the Casco Fish Hatchery to be delivered to classrooms, including Lyman Moore Middle School, in late January or early February!

Each winter we use products with chloride in it (road salt) to keep us safe while driving on our snow and ice-covered roads. As that snow and ice melts, the salt dissolves into the water and flows downhill to our storm drains and ultimately our waterways. Reduce your use of road salt while staying safe.

This year the Clean Water Act turned 50 years old. In 1972 the Clean Water Act was signed into law to regulate water pollution and to protect water quality.

On a beautiful day in late October, Deering High School students walked to Capisic Brook to study the water quality of their local stream. Along the way they discovered all of the ways that humans impact the fragile watershed.
