Happy Birthday Clean Water Act!
This year the Clean Water Act turned 50 years old. Did you know Maine's Senator Ed Muskie led the charge drafting and passing the Clean Water Act in 1972 to regulate water pollution and to protect water quality?
We all benefit from the Clean Water Act which helps prevent, reduce, and eliminate pollution entering our streams, rivers, ponds, lakes, wetlands, and oceans. Our clean water allows us to safely drink, swim, farm, fish, and more.
