Students at Talbot Show That Pollution and Alewives Don’t Mix
Chris from the District was in Talbot Community School this month to do a variety of activities with Mr. Fleury’s and Ms. Biron-Libby’s 5th grade classes.
During one of his visits to their classes, the students demonstrated how stormwater pollution can impact local rivers and affect alewives. As the alewives travel downstream, the pollution traveled with them and collected in Casco Bay.
After creating a “stew” of the different pollutants, the students helped brainstorm ways to reduce the human impact on our rivers and streams.
